Press releaseThe member organizations, the Board of Directors and the staff of the BioWeapons Prevention Project have learnt with shock and disbelief of the tragic death of Swedish Foreign Minister, Anna Lindh. Anna Lindh was widely respected for her insights in domestic and foreign affairs, her deep commitment to human rights and equal opportunities for all peoples, and to arms control and disarmament. In particular, under her guidance Sweden has made significant contributions towards eliminating the threat of biological weapons. The BWPP expresses its deepest sympathy to Anna Lindh's family, the Swedish government and the Swedish people. Dr Jean Pascal Zanders |

The BioWeapons Prevention Project is dedicated to reinforcing the norm against the weaponization of disease. It is a global civil society activity that tracks governmental and other behaviour under the treaties that codify the norm. It nurtures and is empowered by an international network, and acts both through that network and its publications. |
