Board Elections: The BWPP Board of Directors

Composition of the Board of Directors

• The Board of Directors is composed of nine elected Network member organizations.
• Each Network member organization elected to the Board designates a representative, who will have one vote. Other representatives from elected Network members may attend the Board meetings in an advisory capacity.

Duration of the mandate

• A Network member organization is elected for the duration of six years, provided there is no fundamental change in the conditions that made it eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.
• Every two years one third of the elected positions on the Board of Directors come up for election.
• A network member organization can be reelected in accordance with the election procedure.
• In the event a Network member organization withdraws prematurely from the Board of Directors, its position will be open for election in addition to the ones of the Network member organizations that come up for election under the terms of the election procedure.
• The Board of Directors may consider by-election procedures if and when necessary.
