Board Elections: Voting results

Basic vote counting procedure

  • Each network member organizations ranks all the nominated organizations in order of preference.
  • The preferred candidate organization receives the highest score, equal to the number of candidate organizations on the shortlist. The score of the subsequent candidate organizations is decreased by one increment with the last ranked candidate organization receiving a score of one.
  • In the case two organizations get the same score (where relevant) ranking will be decided based on the number of highest scores obtained.

Responsibilities

  • The Director of the BWPP is responsible for the vote count.
  • The Chairperson of the Board of Directors certifies the count.

Notification

  • All candidate organizations are informed of the voting score.
  • All Network member organizations are informed of the elected candidate organizations.
  • Following the announcement of the election results any Network member organization can receive a copy of the Board decision on the short-listing of nominated organizations and the full election results upon request.

Elected organizations

  • The candidate organizations with the highest scores are elected to the Board of Directors.
  • The newly elected Network member organizations take up office at the first regular meeting of the Board of Directors following the election.
  • At its first meeting following the elections, the Board of Directors elects a Chair and Vice-Chairperson.
